In it, God is described as having created the universe in six days, before resting on the seventh day, or the Sabbath. One of the most significant passages containing seven is from the book of Revelation. It recounts the opening of seven seals, which signifies a powerful judgment from God. The seals speak to God’s willingness to punish those who do wrong, as well as his willingness to reward those who do what is right. Furthermore, Revelation mentions a number of events that occur in sevens, including the release of seven angels, the writing of seven letters, and the sounding of seven trumpets.
