The Bible describes diligence as one of the essential qualities of a godly person. Proverbs 12:24 says, “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.” This verse teaches us that those who work hard will be rewarded, while those who are lazy will suffer the consequences. This is further reinforced in Proverbs 13:4, which says, “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” This verse clearly implies that one will only get out of life what they are willing to put into it.
One of the best examples of diligence found in the Bible is that of Jesus Christ. He was a man of hard work and dedication who faced great obstacles but persevered until the end. He taught us that no matter how difficult the path that we are on, we should trust in God and have faith that He will provide the strength and courage to overcome any obstacle. As Jesus said in Luke 18:27, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
As believers, we are called to live a life of diligence and hard work. We should strive to use our gifts and talents to the glory of God and strive to make a difference in our world. We should be on the lookout for opportunities to serve others and use our gifts to help those in need. We should also practice self-discipline, so that we can be productive during our waking hours and use our time wise
