What Really Happened To The Dinosaurs?
It’s hard to imagine a world without dinosaurs. For centuries, their magnificence has been admired, studied and celebrated by people all over the world. But why are there no dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible?
Despite the long-term fears among early Christians of the outcomes of pagan worship of “dragons”, archaeological evidence, and evidence of ancient cultures, suggest that dinosaurs did exist. Even so, no mention of them is made in any of the Bible’s 66 books.
The most accepted theory to date postulates that the reason why dinosaurs are absent from the Bible is due to the fact that they were extinct before recorded history. In other words, by the time the Bible was written, the dinosaurs had already disappeared from the Earth.
The geologic record shows that most of the dinosaur types that existed during the Mesozoic era, about 252 million to 66 million years ago, were gone by the time humans first appeared. That suggests that the absence of any reference to such creatures in the Bible is due in part to the fact that they were gone before humans and the Bible.
Experts point out that few if any animals and plants are mentioned in the Bible that have become extinct since then. To mention dinosaurs, the Bible author(s) would have needed to believe in their existence and included them in their writings — which they clearly did not.
Another possibility is that, since the Bible is largely a book of faith, the ancient authors deliberately omitted dinosaurs from it because they did not consider them relevant to their message or to the people of their time. After all, faith has nothing to do with scientific evidence, which was indispensible to verify the existence of dinosaurs at the time.
In fact, the Bible is filled with fantastical creatures, some of which could be interpreted as mythical, such as the fiery serpent (Numbers 21:9), dragons (Psalm 91:13), cherubim (Genesis 3:24), and the four beasts of Revelation (Revelation 4:7). Some scholars argue that these creatures could be seen as symbolic descriptions and metaphors for the dinosaurs.
The Mystery of the Missing Dinosaurs
Despite their absence in the Bible, many scientific theories have been proposed to explain the disappearance of dinosaurs. Did Ancient Humans Interact With Dinosaurs?

For example, the Chinese have a long history of dragon worship, while in India, the myths of the dragons called Naga, which have powerful snake-like bodies and multiple heads, are still a part of popular culture.
These ancient stories and beliefs suggest that humans did interact with, and even possibly worship, dinosaurs. Could these stories be evidence of humans observing and interacting with them? It may never be known for sure, but it is intriguing to ponder.
What is undeniable, however, is that centuries have passed since the last dinosaur walked the Earth, and we still do not know what exactly happened to them. Modern Day Dinosaurs?

The presence of so many mythical creatures in the Bible has led some to believe that the authors may have deliberately omitted dinosaurs from their writings in order to convey a message. Nevertheless, whatever the authors’ reasons for omitting dinosaurs from the Bible, the mystery remains.

Despite the absence of dinosaurs from the Bible, their legacy lives on in many forms. Fossils, archaeological evidence, and myths surrounding them all provide a window into their past and a reminder of their enormous impact on the world we inhabit today.
We may never fully understand what caused their extinction, or why they are not mentioned in the Bible. But regardless, the story of the dinosaurs is a fascinating one that continues to intrigue us.
