Sennacherib dismissed Hezekiah’s request and threatened to take Judah by force unless Hezekiah was willing to pay a massive tribute. Hezekiah was cornered and he knew that he was outmatched. In a desperate attempt, Hezekiah prayed to the Lord for a miracle and the Lord answered his prayer. The Lord smote the Assyrian camp and destroyed their forces, allowing Hezekiah and Judah to be victorious.
