The Book of Colossians
The book of Colossians is one of the epistles, or letters, of the New Testament in the Bible. Written by the Apostle Paul, it was addressed to the church in Colossae, which is now present-day Turkey. The purpose of the book is to explain the supremacy of Jesus Christ and how He should be the focus of our lives. Paul also addressed some of the false teachings and legalistic philosophies which were prevalent during his time.
Where Is Colossians in the Bible?
Colossians is the penultimate book of the New Testament and is found in the fourth section of the Bible, which is known as the “Second and Third Epistles Division”. As such, it is located directly after the book of Ephesians, and before the book of 1 Thessalonians.
