Chapter One: Jonah’s Destiny To Prophecy
Jonah’s destiny was set when he was chosen by God himself to be a prophet. He was sent to Nineveh in order to warn them of impending judgment if they did not turn away from their wicked ways. God then commanded a fish to swallow Jonah, and then three days later, God allowed the fish to spit out Jonah onto dry land.

The Bible does not specify where the fish ended up spitting Jonah out, but it is assumed that it was somewhere on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. When Jonah returned to Nineveh, he continued to preach, but this time, with a changed perspective as well. He also repented of his own anger and became a symbol of God’s grace and mercy with the people of Nineveh.
