Introduction

God Requires We Speak Out Against Evil
The Bible is clear that God requires us to speak out against evil. In Proverbs 24: 11-12 it is written, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?” In this passage, it is made clear that God expects us to speak out against evil, even when it may not be in our own best interest to do so.
In addition, Leviticus 19:16 states, “You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD. In this passage, it is implied that it is wrong to remain silent about the evil deeds of others. We must speak up in order to keep our fellow human beings from harm.
Our Hearts Can Silence Us

Yet, our hearts can also be the source of strength and courage in the face of evil. In Isaiah 59:17 it is written, “He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak. In this passage, it is clear that by taking a stand for what is right, our hearts can be filled with courage and strength.
We Have a Responsibility To Act
The Bible is clear that we all have a responsibility to act in the face of evil. This is communicated in Micah 6:8 which states, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” In this passage, it is made clear that our actions are integral in bringing justice and righteousness to the world.
Similarly, in Isaiah 1:17, it is written, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” Here, it is made clear that seeking justice and bringing correction are essential aspects of being faithful to God. We cannot remain silent in the face of evil, for we have a moral obligation to do what is right.
Silence Is Not Always The Answer

In Proverbs 31: 8-9 it is written, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Here, it is made clear that speaking up can be the most effective way to combat evil and make a positive change in the world.
Additionally, in Ecclesiastes 3:7, it is written, “A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.” This passage shows us that there is a time for both silence and speaking, and that we must make wise decisions about which one to choose in each situation.
In Times Of Evil Seek God’s Guidance
Finally, the Bible teaches us that in times of evil we must seek God’s guidance. In 2 Chronicles 20:12 it is written, “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” Here, it is made clear that when we are facing evil, we must look to God for wisdom and strength. We cannot rely on our own understanding, but must place our faith in God and seek his guidance.
Trust In God That He Will Make Things Right
The Bible teaches us that even in the face of great evil, we must never lose hope. In Isaiah 43:2 it is written, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” This passage reminds us that even in difficult times, we can trust in God and have faith that he will make things right.
