What does the Bible say about Jesus?
The Bible is filled with references to Jesus from the beginning of the Old Testament to the end of the New Testament. Jesus is mentioned in the Bible more than two thousand times, making Him the most mentioned individual in the Bible. According to biblical scholars, Jesus is presented in the Bible as the most important person in human history. In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as a child, prophet, teacher, pathfinder, steward, leader, liberator, divine messenger, healer, redeemer and Messiah.

The Jesus of history is the real person described and revealed in the Bible and understood by modern-day scholars. Jesus of history was born a Jew and lived in the area of Palestine 2000 years ago. He was a carpenter and a Jewish rabbi and lived during the time of Roman rule. He is the person spoken of in the New Testament and is believed to have been the founder of the Christian faith.
The historical evidence indicates that Jesus was born in Bethlehem as recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke. He most likely died in Jerusalem around the year 33 AD. His death and resurrection are also confirmed by historic records. The actual life of Jesus and His ministry are documented in such a way in gospels that it is possible to ascertain many facts and details about Him.
The Jesus of Faith
The Jesus of faith is the one believed by Christians to be God’s incarnate son and the Savior of humanity. He is the fulfillment of God’s promises to the people of Israel, and the root cause of faith in God and the Church. He is believed to be the promised Messiah, who will save humanity from suffering and sin. As the Bible tells us, Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
