The Bible has a lot to say about aging and dying. In the Old Testament, there are numerous verses that talk about how to respect the elderly, and how to care for those who are nearing the end of their life. The New Testament also has a lot to say about aging and dying. Jesus Himself spoke about the end of life, and what it means for those who follow Him. In general, the Bible paints a picture of aging as a time of wisdom and reflection, and dying as a time of hope and new beginnings.

The Bible does not mention getting old specifically, but it does talk about death. For example, in John 11:25-26, Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” In other words, those who believe in Jesus will never really die, because they will live on forever in heaven. The Bible also says in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 that “The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” So, even though the Bible doesn’t specifically mention getting old, it does teach that death is a reality for everyone, and that we will all be judged for our actions in life.

What is the biblical understanding of aging?

The Bible presents three main themes on aging: Achieving old age is a Divine Tribute, People in the last half of life are to be honored and respected, and Growing older brings about Definite Testing along with blessing.

The days of our lives are filled with labor and trouble. We are constantly beset by weakness and must be chastened by it. Our years are but seventy, and if we are in strength, eighty. Even the greater part of these years are spent in toil and turmoil.

How many years does God give us to live
